FAQs

The perfect HSV is flexible and friendly, and someone who has time each week to support families in a way that is right for them. No experience of working with children is necessary as full training and ongoing support is provided. Adults of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to apply.

Once you have completed our training and undergone an enhanced DBS check, we will match you with a family, who you will visit regularly. The support you provide will last anywhere from a few weeks up to 18 months, depending on your availability and the needs of the family.

As an HSV you could be asked to do things such as play with a child who is seriously unwell; help a sibling with their homework; or do some ironing. Your job is to make life easier for the family you support. You will not provide any clinical care.

Being an HSV is the perfect way to meet new people and feel connected to your community. You’ll put smiles on children’s faces and help create magical moments for their families.
