Our dedicated Bereavement Support Worker will be with you throughout your journey with grief. We will tailor our support to your needs, whether that’s by offering practical or emotional support or simply being a listening ear. There is no right or wrong way to grieve after the death of a child, and we’re here for you no matter what you’re feeling.
Once we accept your referral to Noah’s Ark, our Family Link Team will offer you bereavement support. We will take the time to understand your family and your needs. We will create a package of support that suits your individual needs. This can include counselling sessions, creative therapies, access to our bereavement groups and events, and memory making.
Counselling can be made up of a one-off support sessions, a series of regular sessions, or group work.
A quiet room within The Ark, with comfortable surroundings and sofa area to make you feel at ease. Our Counselling Room overlooks our Contemplation Garden, a private space for reflection.
We understand that revisiting The Ark can be triggering for families. Thanks to funding from Together for Short Lives and Morrisons we can now provide counselling in a private space outside our main hospice building. This gives families a space to have sessions away from where their child may have received our care.
Our trained team of specialists can help support your family, they can also recommend books which can help and signpost you to other organisations that can offer further support.
