Celebrating Volunteers’ Week at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice

3 June 2026
This Volunteers’ Week, we are proudly celebrating the incredible people who give their time, compassion and energy to support children who are seriously unwell and their families at Noah’s Ark.

From helping families at home and supporting activities at The Ark, to assisting at fundraising events or simply offering a listening ear, our volunteers make an extraordinary difference every day.

Thank You to Our Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of Noah’s Ark. In 2025/2026, 202 volunteers have supported families across our services, generously giving more than 7,600 hours of their time.

Their support has included:

  • Over 1,600 hours in The Ark
  • Over 1,800 hours in Family Activities
  • Over 1,600 hours of Home Support
  • Over 900 hours in Fundraising
  • Over 700 hours in Specialist Care
  • Over 400 hours of Corporate Volunteering
  • Over 200 hours of Bereavement Support
Thank You

Whether volunteering for a few hours a month or several days a week, every contribution helps children who are seriously unwell make the most of every day and supports families through some of their most challenging times.

A Growing Community

Over the past year, Noah’s Ark welcomed 74 new volunteers, the highest number recruited in a single year to date. This growing community continues to strengthen the support available to families across North and Central London and Hertsmere.

This year has also seen the growth of new volunteer opportunities, including Transition Home Support Volunteers helping young people aged 19+ build confidence and independence, and volunteer drivers helping families access our holiday lodges, Family Activities and services at The Ark.

Volunteers are also helping to expand our therapeutic and creative activities, supporting sessions such as Sensory Stories and enabling more children and families to take part.

Dan, Volunteer Manager at Noah’s Ark, said:

“Volunteering at Noah's Ark provides people with a meaningful way to make a difference to the lives of children and families we support. You can help us raise vital funds, help families in their homes or be part of our family activity days and have a lot of fun yourself while doing it.

More widely, volunteering is a fantastic way to meet people, develop new skills and give back to your local community.

Volunteering is vital at Noah’s Ark and I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to our volunteers as we mark this special week.”

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every one of our volunteers. Your time, care and commitment help families feel supported, connected and less alone. We simply could not do what we do without you.
