At Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, we are dedicated to supporting not only children and families but also the wider community. Our latest initiative, ‘Caring Careers’ Lesson Plans, is designed to inspire and inform the next generation about the rewarding opportunities available in the charity and care sector.

The ‘Caring Careers’ lesson plan, tailored for different age groups (EYFS to KS4), introduces students to a variety of roles within the sector, including Nursing, Creative Therapies, Play, Fundraising, Finance, and Marketing. Through engaging resources, we aim to highlight the skills and qualifications needed for these careers, encouraging students to consider a future in a profession that makes a difference.

Our free resources include:

Rebecca Reeve, Community Engagement Officer at Noah’s Ark, shared:

“‘Caring Careers’ is our second lesson plan and is an exciting way to introduce the next generation to the incredible range of roles within the charity and care sector. By providing engaging, age-appropriate materials, we hope to inspire young people to consider careers that have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.”

By equipping students with knowledge and insight into these professions, we hope to inspire and guide young learners towards fulfilling and impactful career paths.

Caring Careers builds on the success of our first lesson plan, Kindness, which we launched last year and has been well received in local schools.

Maria Michael, Deputy Headteacher at Holly Park School, had this to say about the Kindness lesson plan:

“A wonderful assembly which gave the children an understanding of what Noah’s Ark does in a child friendly way whilst developing their empathy.”
