Saturday saw celebrities and our supporters come together at The Otherist in London’s Old Broad Street to raise just under £13k to fund our services over the coming year.

The event was hosted by Blue Peter legend and NBC Access Hollywood presenter Tim Vincent and also featured DJ sets from Michael Y and TV Presenter and Radio DJ Melvin Odoom.

Tim Vincent said:

“It was an absolute privilege to host Noah’s Ark’s Children’s Hospice’s first Glitz and Giving Event. It was great to hear from the CEO Sophie Andrews OBE about the work that the charity does to support children and families and I was proud to have been part of the event.”

“It was an honour to DJ at Noah’s Ark’s Children’s Hospice’s first Glitz and Giving Event and to see all the guests giving their time and money to such a good cause. I have a personal connection to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, so it was an absolute pleasure to support them and the amazing work they do.”

One lucky guest also won a 1 carat diamond courtesy of our generous sponsor V Jewellers. The event was also sponsored by Queenswood Homes.

There was also a raffle with impressive prizes such as a champagne afternoon tea at The Dorchester, a spa day for two at The Grove hotel, afternoon tea at Pan Pacific, Aspinall of London handbags and a bottomless brunch at Drake and Morgan!

Rachael Messer, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s Special Events Manager said:

“Our very first Glitz and Giving event was an incredible success and we are extremely grateful to everyone who attended. It was amazing to see the guests having such a great time while raising vital funds to help us keep being there for the children and families we support.”

The event formally kicked off our flagship autumn appeal From That Moment which has now started and will run to 21st October. From That Moment presents a real opportunity to make a huge difference to the lives of children and families across North London. We need the support from the community to raise a staggering £1 million to fund our running costs, which currently stands at £18k per day. Every family’s story is unique, but they all share a defining moment – the moment everything changed.

Because of the incredible support from the community in the past five years, we have raised over £5 million through the From That Moment Appeal. These funds have allowed us to be there for children and families from that very moment, providing support, care and comfort and thanks to the generosity of our campaign backers, every donation made during the appeal will be doubled!
