This Children’s Hospice Week, we’re taking a moment to look back at Noah’s Ark’s amazing journey, and what a journey it’s been!
Starting as a small community service back in 2006, we’ve grown thanks to the incredible support of our community. The launch of our £10million ‘Building The Ark Appeal’ in 2015 was a huge turning point for the charity and which led to the grand opening of The Ark in 2019.
We envisioned The Ark as a beacon of warmth and hope, and it has become just that and so much more.
Since then, we’ve expanded to offer an accessible holiday lodge in the beautiful Essex countryside, providing families with a perfect escape. We’ve also added The Cabin, a new external counselling suite offering a peaceful space for therapy sessions.
Working with other healthcare professionals, NHS Trusts and hospitals, and other children’s hospices we have developed a mutual understanding and aligned how we can support families that need palliative care; and offer choices for their preferred place of care.
As we reflect on our journey, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for how far we’ve come. It wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing supporters – YOU!
Thank you for helping us support children who are seriously unwell and their families, making every day count.
As one Noah’s Ark parent says:
“A children’s hospice is a place for children to live, a place where memories are made, and where you feel supported. It’s about making the most of the life you have, even if it’s not as long a life as the average person.”
Thank you for being part of our journey! As we look forward to the future, we hope you’ll continue to stand with us.
