Tottenham Hotspur Legends Ossie Ardiles, David Howells and Pat Jennings plus Wimbledon Legend Dave Beasant all attended the annual golf bash at The Grove Hotel in Watford on Monday to raise money for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
David Howells said:
‘It was a fantastic day, we managed to meet some wonderful people, and all for a brilliant cause in supporting the work done by Noah’s Ark.’
The footballing legends were joined by a host of the charity’s corporate partners such as Ardent Hire, Asbestech, Taylor Wimpey, Martyn Gerrard and Belcor Ltd and sponsors Powerday at the luxurious hotel for a day of golfing followed by a sumptuous lunch and auction led by Ian Irving. Some of the prizes that were up for grabs included a round at Centurion with Tottenham Hotspur Legend Ossie Ardiles, a round at the beautiful Sunningdale Golf Club with Manchester United Legend Steve Coppell plus a bespoke Noah’s Ark t-shirt signed by Tottenham Hotspur men’s first team. The shirt was one of those worn by the team in the warm-up to the north London derby match against Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April.
Approximately £100K was raised on the day in aid of Noah’s Ark’s Children’s Hospice. Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families, make the most of every day. It costs over £6 million a year to keep Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice running, with 93% of that coming from voluntary donations. This vital support ensures that we can continue to provide expert and compassionate palliative care for over 350 children who have a life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families.
A Noah’s Ark dad, Roscoe Mahoney, attended and spoke candidly about his life and experiences. Roscoe and his wife Gina have 12-year-old twins Ray and Arthur who have been supported by Noah’s Ark since they were babies. When Ray was born, he suffered a bleed on his brain, which has affected his development but despite this, his wonderful personality shines through.
Roscoe said:
‘It was amazing to be at the golf day, Noah’s Ark is very dear to me and a huge part of my life, and Tottenham is also in my DNA! I was so grateful to attend and to have had the chance to meet the legends.’

‘We had such a wonderful day. It was great for all our generous supporters who bought tickets to hear a personal story from a dad who spoke very movingly about the support his family receive from Noah’s Ark. Our partnership with Tottenham Hotspur continues to go from strength to strength and we were delighted to have them represented on the day.’
