We enable babies and children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families to live fulfilling lives, die with dignity and face the future with hope.
Each family referred to us has a single point of contact to make sure that the whole family gets the personalised, tailored support that they need. Often this provision is practical, for example speaking to the council to make sure that a family’s home is wheelchair accessible.
We offer children the chance to have fun and rewarding experiences and make friends. Whether it’s days out for the whole family, adventures for siblings or parents’ support groups, we create precious moments which families share and treasure.
Our nurse-trained specialist carers as well as our army of volunteers go into people’s homes to help directly with the child and more broadly around the home. They give parents a break to pop out for a cup of coffee or spend time with the unwell child’s siblings.
We are based at The Ark, our purpose-built children’s hospice in Barnet, North London.
