Virtual Variety Show raises thousands for Noah's Ark

Celebrities come together to raise vital funds and awareness

Big names from the TV, film and entertainment industry have joined forces to create a virtual variety show for Noah’s Ark. The event was thought out by two of our fantastic Noah’s Ark supporters, Diane Greenberg and Debbie David.

Every year Noah's Ark Community Ambassador Diane Greenberg takes on the challenge of holding a live variety show in aid of Noah's Ark.  With no live events able to take place this year due to coronavirus,  Diane felt she had no option but to cancel the show, but at the last minute Debbie came on board and used her experience as Executive Producer for TV & Digital to work with Diane to create a spectacular show.

As Diane and Debbie said: "The journey from thinking we would have to abandon the idea of 'Because We Can 2020',  to streaming it live, was amazing.  With virtually no budget and an extremely short amount of time we managed to stream an entertaining, moving and incredibly fun one hour show featuring some great names from the entertainment industry.  Every member of the cast of great acts and talented crew willingly gave up a beautifully sunny weekend to work as a team, showing that Noah’s Ark touches the heartstrings of absolutely everyone who is fortunate to learn about this great charity.”

The Hosts - EastEnders star Nitin Ganatra and broadcaster Rachel Agnew were joined by some brilliant acts, including Olivier award-winning actress Sam Spiro and Britain's Got Talent Magician X.  Screened live from the King Alfred Phoenix Theatre the night was a roaring success with over £4,500 raised for the charity, the equivalent of funding The Ark's newly opened inpatient unit for a whole 24 hours.
