Grab a pen, paper and your thinking cap for a Noah’s Ark Quiz Night!
We've got everything you need to have a night with a little bit of trivia and a lot of fun.
Test your knowledge and host a virtual Quiz Night to help Noah’s Ark provide care and support for our children and families during these unprecedented times. Hosting a quiz is a great way to connect with friends and family online during this time of isolation. If you’ve never hosted a quiz before, do not fear – we’ve got everything you need to get going.
Getting your Quiz Night started
First you’ll need to come up with a quiz. You can either create your own by Googling 'Pub Quiz' or 'General Knowledge Quiz' where you'll find an array of quiz questions you can use... Or, here's one we prepared earlier! We've put a range of question sheets together - including picture rounds - together already so you don't have to spend time doing it yourself. Just go to our Dropbox where you can download everything you need to host your own quiz. We've put together four weeks' worth of questions so you can even take it in turns to host and the the Quiz Master! Each week, you get four rounds - one general knowledge and three different rounds, all with 10 questions. The picture round is a jpg image so you can send this to your friends in advance and get them to answer before the quiz starts and then announce the answers at the end of your quiz.
Pick a date and time to host your virtual get-together that best suits you and your friends and family. You could think about hosting a quiz on a weekly basis - great to make sure you are staying in touch with friends and family during isolation!
Now decide how you want to host your quiz. WhatsApp can host video calls with up to 4 people; Houseparty can host up to 8 people; Skype can host up to 50 people; and Zoom can host up to 100 people at once and is available on both mobile and desktop but the free version only allows 40 minutes for group meetings but unlimited 1-to-1 calls. All of these apps are available on both mobiles and desktops can be downloaded for FREE from the websites or by going to your app store.
Supporting Noah's Ark
Think of some different ways to encourage your friends and family to donate, Do they usually go to a pub quiz every week? Why not ask them to donate what they would normally pay to enter and get a couple of drinks or you could ask them for a fee to take part in your quiz. Maybe ask them for an extra donation if you have to give them a clue to an answer. You can either set up a JustGiving or VirginMoneyGiving page or ask for donations via our website.
Don’t forget some little extras, for example, you don't just have to have an overall winner - you could even have the best team name or introduce a Joker Round where teams can 'play their joker' in a round they think they'll do best/worst in and get double points. How about a 4-week league tournament? However you decide to host your Quiz Night, don't forget to keep us updated on social media, tagging us in any photos. We'd love to see how you get on.
