Your donation today could mean precious moments this winter, and magical memories for the year to come.
For many families trips and celebrations are a family highlight but if your child has complex needs things like theatre visits, parties or days out can just feel too difficult. Noah’s Ark dedicated family activities team make these treats possible – creating precious moments that mean the world to the families taking part.
Jess, who has been supported by Noah’s Ark for the past five years, has Rett syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. For her mum, Liz, Noah’s Ark has been a lifeline. “As a family we just find Noah’s Ark totally invaluable. I don’t think we would have coped over the years.”
Noah’s Ark Family Days, such as the annual Winter Pantomime and the Summer Ball, are fully accessible and mean that Jess and her family can join in the fun without having to worry about a thing. These days are a highlight for the whole family; says Liz, “We’ve got such lovely family memories from the days you’ve put on.”
And ask nine-year-old Jess for her thoughts about Noah’s Ark, speaking through her computer, they couldn’t be any clearer:
“Feel love, feel love, feel love.”
Jess’s six-year-old sister, Anna copes brilliantly with her sister’s condition although Liz is aware of the stress that’s often placed upon her. Anna has started taking part in Noah’s Ark sibling activities too, going on trips and spending time with other young people in similar circumstances. “Noah’s Ark is the only place that offers anything for siblings and that’s so important,” says Liz.
And according to Anna:
“Noah’s Ark is awesome!”
We’re busy planning for our calendar of family days and activities for the next 12 months. So it’s absolutely vital we know that we have the funds to run this important programme over the coming year.
